Our people
Our people have always been central to our success as a business and we care deeply about nurturing our team. Wellbeing, development and training are key priorities for us and we are proud that recent employee engagement is over 80%.
We offer internal training programmes to develop our team, and we have also been offering apprenticeships since 2013. Many of our apprentices gain their qualifications and move into full time employment with us. We are pleased to be shaping the future of our industry by training talented, conscientious supervisors and managers.
Building the construction industry of the future
We are committed to equality and inclusion, creating opportunities for all where they may not otherwise be available. In particular, we provide work placements and retraining opportunities for ex-servicepeople through our relationship with Help for Heroes, a charity that is very close to our hearts. Learn more about our work with Help for Heroes and our community ethos. We are also working with the Ministry of Justice (MOJ) to provide jobs and re-training opportunities for released prisoners.
Diverse, forward-thinking industry growth
The construction industry is changing for the better and we want to ensure we play our part. One of our core aims is to be viewed as a leading inclusive employer and our demographic growth shows how we are living our values: in the last 10 years, our BME workforce has increased from 2% to 28% and our female workforce has increased from 1.3% to almost 30%. As we continue to grow our business, our talented, diverse, inclusive team will take us from strength to strength.
Our suppliers
We are currently undergoing a project to diversify our supply chain, in particular by forming connections with women-owned companies and working with The Princes Trust. In line with our company values and ethos, we look forward to bringing more diverse suppliers on board.
